When it comes to dating, many people think that they need to plan extravagant outings to impress their partner. However, it may not be a good idea to spend too much money, or time planning a first date. Though you want to make sure that you leave a great impression, if you spend too much money on a first date, you run the risk of giving a false impression. Your date will come to expect that type of luxury on future outings and you’ll be constantly trying to compete with the impression you gave. The key is to find balance and focus on having fun and a great time with your first date.
You should save expensive romantic dinners for special occasions and events and reserve the early times in your relationship for getting to know one another.
Just because the date you’ve planned is inexpensive, doesn’t have to mean that it won’t be memorable. In fact, you’ll be amazed at just how wonderful a time you can have while spending very little money. Since college students and many young adults live on a budget, it is important to consider other ways of entertainment that won’t set you back financially. Here are some ideas that will help ensure that your dates are cheap in price, but not in fun.
First, don’t dismiss the wonder and splendor of nature. You may be amazed to discover that your local area is home to some magnificent natural wonders. Check with your local tourist center if you aren’t sure what’s available in your area. There may be caves, beaches, mountains, forests, rivers, national parks, springs, public gardens, or lakes all within miles of your residence. You’ll find that day trips to these natural locations are usually free or very inexpensive and you’ll have a great time. No matter what natural location you spend your date, you’ll always be rewarded with a splendid sunset and moonlit walk underneath the stars, so never underestimate the beauty of your natural surroundings when considering dating locations.
Just as your local environment has natural wonders, it also has history. Every place has a story to tell, and exploring some of your local historical sites is a great date option and it’s educational to boot. You can locate these spots by picking up some tourist guides and brochures from your local community centers. Libraries are also great locations to discover the historical attractions in your community. Once you find the spots, keep an eye out for historical community events as well. These are also very inexpensive and provide great entertainment and are wonderful dates.
Museums, art shows, community fairs, carnivals, planetariums, and zoos are all great choices for dates and are inexpensive choices. You can also plan ahead and find out what special events are taking place at these locations as well.
College events are also great inexpensive dates. Concerts, plays, and educational presentations are always being planned at your local college. Many of these events are held outdoors as well and they don’t cost a lot of money. By looking in your local community, you’ll be amazed at how many things there are for you and your date to participate in, that don’t cost a fortune.
